1974 CHRONICLE – CYO BOYS BASEBALL

BOY’S C.Y.O. BASEBALL JUN 23rd, 1974
Having a successful season the boys’ C.Y.O. team finished in second place. Playing against the Dads’ Club the C.Y.O. boys team lost 9 to 7. The dads got an early lead and held on. A ninth inning rally of seven runs and six outs couldn’t get the boys a win. After the game the boys had their annual party and everyone came, even the Dads who hosted the party. The Dads winning the ball game, lost the yearly water fight to the C.Y.O. boys. Everyone came out wet including coaches Ray Nikolai and Don Welker. A grand time was had by all.

Hats off to the C.Y.O. players Jim Abell, Dave Andrusiak, John Bova, Rick Chevrier, Duane Crechiolo, Mark Flynn, Brian Lagerstrom, Bob Lamb, Gino Lollio, Tom Moylan, Tony Marijanovich, Mike Osaer, Greg Policella, Jim Pruzzo, Greg Salata, Jim Scott, Bob & David Welker, Steve Wilk, Brian Wilson, Bernard York, and Gary Zarb.

Note: A special thanks to Ray Nikolai, assisted by Don Welker, who coached the team, and taught the boys not only a lot of baseball, but more importantly, how to work together as a team. The spirit of the team members was excellent and due to the way they were coached together with the example of the men who coached them. Thanks a million gentlemen!
