CLASS OF ’75 SPIRITUAL INSTRUCTORS

The “Class of ’75” had only one Pastor during their tenure at St. Albert’s and that was Msgr. John A. Weier. However there were other Pastors at St. Albert’s Church throughout its 65 year history. Of special note is Fr. Leo J. DePlaunty who founded the Church in 1955 but left due to illness in 1961. He became the Chaplain of Holy Cross Hospital after leaving St. Albert’s but his health continued to deteriorate and eventually he was relieved of all duties due to his health. Fr. DePlaunty died in April 1964.

Of interest is Fr. Dan Zaleski who technically retired in 2019 but stayed on to assist St. Albert’s in 2020. He was the last Pastor of St. Albert’s so while his tenure actually ended in 2019, we extended it to 2020 since he was present at St. Albert’s in 2020. During this final period of time (2019 – 2020) the Archdiocese of Detroit did not appoint a replacement Pastor but instead appointed an administrator to St. Albert’s who would oversee the day to day operations including the closure of St. Albert’s. We have listed all the pastors of St. Albert’s below.
