1974 MEMORIES OF ST ALBERT’S AT CHRISTMAS

The Christmas plays and Christmas singing were only the start of the Christmas season at St. Albert’s. The Church was always magnificently decorated and despite the cold Michigan winters there was not a warmer feeling than the annual “Midnight Mass”.

St. Albert’s was aware that Christmas was about families and contributed to the seasonal festivities by making the gymnasium available to students. Little friends would get together to play basketball at least one day during Christmas vacation and all they had to do was go to the Convent and ask the nuns for the keys. One special Year Gary Z got to play basketball with his brother Bob who was home on leave from the Navy, what a great Christmas gift that was for Gary.

Pictures of the decorations used in the Church are shown below. These are from 1974.
