The St. Albert Festival had come a long way since the days of the little friends hiding in a corner of the moonwalk. These were gigantic events that dwarfed anything in the area. In addition to the parking lot being filled with rides and midways, the field behind the gym was also filled right up to the convent. Even the lawn between the parking lot and the church was in use as a railroad train station for the kids. You could still find St. Albert Moms and Dads running many of the booths and the beer tent had plenty of live entertainment even during the daylight hours.
We refer to this as the Titanic festival because you could see the sinking Titanic ship in the St. Albert parking lot for blocks away, a great way to draw in people
